Hello my name is Margaret (Marg) Scott – Mortgage Broker/Founder of Canada Online Mortgage Inc. My family has called Calgary home since 1978. We have seen many changes over the years, but still feel that Calgary has retained that small town friendly atmosphere.

I grew up in small communities through out South Western Ontario, the daughter of a CIBC Bank Manager. In most cases my Dad’s branch was the only bank in the village. Clients came from various walks of life: farmers – tobacco & fruit growers, truck drivers, teachers, fishermen etc. Many weekends were spent with our family visiting these clients. I observed back then what good customer service really meant to people and I learned from the master, how to deliver the very best of customer care.

In 1973 it was a natural fit that I also embark on a career in banking and finance. It has always been my pledge to provide excellent customer service. The success that I have experienced in my current career as a mortgage broker, is testimony to how serious I take this pledge. Buying a home is one of the largest investments that you will ever make. Obtaining a mortgage can only add to the stress. I offer you professional guidance and support through every aspect of the mortgage shopping process.

On July 30th 2004, I achieved the designation of Accredited Mortgage Professional. AMP – was developed by the Canadian Association of Accredited Mortgage Professionals (CAAMP) as part of an ongoing commitment to increasing the level of professionalism in Canada’s mortgage industry.

As your professional mortgage broker, I act as a negotiator between the client and the lenders. I am responsible for the client’s mortgage application from beginning to end. This is of great comfort and benefit to all parties, as I am familiar with the needs of the client, the realtor, and the lender.

The greatest advantage of using a mortgage broker, is the ability to offer clients a wider variety of mortgage rates and products. You stand to benefit from my collective market knowledge and exceptional negotiation skills; while avoiding the somewhat intimidating process of dealing directly with the lenders.

In addition, I would be more then pleased to assist you with identifying and locating a suitable realtor, builder, insurance broker, lawyer or any home-related professional to be part of your team.

What is the cost for my services?

The good news is there is no cost to you for my service as your mortgage broker (On Approved Credit). The selected lender ultimately pays me a finder's fee.

How do I get such great rates?

I am often asked this question. As a mortgage broker, I am bringing new business to my lenders. The fact that I am not their employee who they would have to pay benefits or allow space for me in their premises, allows the lender to offer my clients their best discounted interest rates.
